As the film progresses, space evolves into a hyper real, visceral cosmic landscape created from an extraordinary amount of practical cloud tank elements. The arrival and entry into the Martian atmosphere was all CG.
Simple Tricks & Nonsense completed over 30 shots consisting of full background replacements for The Book of El, with no blue or green screen used on set. All the finite edge details were preserved creating seamless composites.
